Greatness Next Door: A Peer Observation Activity for Connection & Growth

Give teachers a chance to learn from each other, build trust, and celebrate great instruction with this low-lift peer observation activity. Inspired by Principal Diane Beninato, this idea helps foster connection and professional growth—one 10-minute classroom visit at a time.

How it Works

This resource includes printable “I Noticed…” note templates, sample sentence stems, bulletin board ideas, tracking tools, and optional newsletter shout-out prompts. Teachers draw a colleague’s name, pop into their classroom for a brief visit, and leave behind a quick note of celebration—while the principal helps cover duties to make it doable.

Educator Collaboration

This resource was created in collaboration with dedicated educators and school leaders who brought their experience, insight, and heart to every step of the process.

Special thanks to Principal Diane Beninato, whose TEAM-themed coaching rotation inspired this idea. Diane brings energy, equity, and connection to everything she does—reminding us that Together Everyone Achieves More, especially when we lift each other up.
