How Alpaca Supports
Council Bluffs
Council Bluffs Community Schools used Alpaca Pulse to make teacher wellbeing visible, measurable, and actionable across the district. Through brief monthly check-ins, leaders could see the real words educators used to describe their experience at work and understand what support was needed most. Teacher voice became a consistent, ongoing data point for leadership and management throughout the school year, rather than relying on a once-a-year survey.
The Impact
By pairing wellbeing data with attendance data, Council Bluffs uncovered clear patterns that helped leaders act earlier and more intentionally.
They were able to:
- Spot predictable morale dips before absenteeism increased
- Learn from schools with consistently strong culture
- Use wellbeing trends to guide coaching, support, and celebration
The result was a clearer picture of how teacher wellbeing connects to attendance, engagement, and retention—giving leaders insight they could actually use.
“We pull up their Alpaca data as one of our clear datapoints. We look at the words teachers are saying, what they say they need, and the comments they’re sharing through the anonymous survey. From there, we can match up strategies to address what’s in the data to Wallace’s four behaviors. It’s a coaching tool we’re using every week.”
